PPL(A)
Become an airplane pilot!
The PPL(A) is a European private pilot licence that allows you to fly single-engine aeroplanes for non-commercial purposes.
It is the first major step toward becoming a professional pilot, while also offering the freedom to fly for leisure, alone or with passengers.
objectives
- Acquire all the theoretical and practical skills required to fly safely under VFR (Visual Flight Rules).
- Learn how to plan, conduct and manage a complete flight.
- Obtain the EASA PPL(A) issued by the civil aviation authority (DGAC in France).
Privileges of the PPL(A)
- Act as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on non-commercial operations. (private only)
- Carry passengers once the required experience is reached.
- Fly across all EASA member states and many other countries thanks to international recognition of the licence.
Entry requirements
- Minimum age: Recommended 15 to start training, 16 for the first solo and 17 to give a go to the skill test.
- Medical certificate: Class 2 required (issued by an EASA-approved medical examiner).
- No specific educational level required.
